Guest Book Review: Emma Hamilton - Greedily Yours - Episode 7: Missing Ingredients

Reviewed by Kelly Spillane

Greedily Yours is a serial novel about the quest for top dishes ... with a dash of accidental love.

Mia Maxwell loves food. She loves it so much that she's made it her career. On the surface Mia seems to have it all sewn up. She lives in trendy east London with her best friend. By day she runs her own food PR consultancy, and by night she's a food blogger enjoying a burgeoning audience. Mia has a banker boyfriend who enjoys travelling the world, enabling her to taste the globe's culinary delights. But Mia is still hungry and, when she heads down to Cornwall to run a food festival, she doesn't realize that her entire life is about to be cast adrift.

Food blogger, Mia Hamilton is back in episode seven of this brilliant eight part series. Mia is delighted to have recently been offered a book deal based on her blog, Greedily Yours. In preparation for writing her book, Mia has been traveling the world and finding out about different foods and cultures in places such as Lebanon, Ethiopia, and Sicily, which is where this episode picks up. After attending a wedding at Tom's Grandparents home in Sicily, which ended in disaster for Mia and Tom, they are trying to pretend that they haven't seen each other at the airport. But when one thing leads to another and Mia finds herself sitting next to Tom's sister Sylvia on the plane home, Tom and Mia are forced to sort out their differences. This episode sees the end to Mia's travels and focuses on her at home in London, writing her book.

I have loved each installment of this series and in my opinion they just keep getting better and better. I am now torn between wanting to move straight onto episode eight to find out what happens next and keeping it for a little while longer just so the series doesn't have to end. Each episode is less than one hundred pages which means that they are just long enough to keep you interested and short enough to leave you wanting more.

I have loved the character of Mia in all of the Greedily Yours episodes but I feel that she really shines in this episode because it feels like the first time we have seen her be truly relaxed and happy. It has been lovely to see a character develop so much from the first episode. It is safe to say that I now think of Mia as a friend and not just a character. I really enjoyed getting to know Tom's sister, Sylvia, in this episode. She is a very fun and very likable character and she really adds something special to this episode. As always the characters of Lizzie and Tom were great in this episode and added the fun factor.

I was delighted to see Mia and Tom finally getting on in this episode. Up until now I have been screaming at my Kindle for them to put all the misunderstandings behind them and it seems like they have finally done that in this episode. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens between the two characters in episode eight.

As always the food mentioned in this episode has left my mouth watering. The food that is described when Mia and Lizzie are planning the 'December Menu' sounded so delicious, I felt like heading off to kitchen and doing some baking. The food is also so beautifully described that it is easy to imagine it and this really gives the story substance.

I have loved reading about Mia and her adventures and I am very excited to see what episode eight will bring.
