When I first contacted Harper Impulse about doing this feature week they recommended Nic Tatano's Wing Girl as one of the books to review during the week and having just finished it I'm glad that they did.
Belinda Carson has a successful career as an investigative reporter who is used to being one of the lads with her colleagues but the one thing missing in her life is the perfect man.
When she's out with her friends they seem to get the good ones whilst her strong personality seems to repel men leaving her with the misfits earning her the label of 'wing girl'. So her friends decide an intervention is in order to give her a makeover and give her tips as to how to be more ladylike to make her more appealing to men. And it certainly seems to work as she soon has two admirers interested in her so will she make the right choice?...
Belinda was such a fun character, I loved the fact that she was a strong successful woman but it was also nice to see her softer side develop throughout the makeover phase. As for her friends Ariel, Roxanne and Serena, they were a great addition to the story as they genuinely cared for her and were not afraid to tell Belinda what they thought! I'd definitely love to hear their stories in the future.
This was a real feel-good read with the perfect blend of romance, comedy and drama to make it an entertaining read.
